Free Backdoor Workshops

"MSHDA Low-Interest Loans" for home improvements are available and Jess Sobel of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority will present the program at NOCBOR on Monday, July 28 (10 a.m.). Bruce Abramson will share his experience and knowledge, on Wednesday, July 30 (10:00 a.m.)  regarding the #1 crime in the country.  Identity Theft. You may find yourself in a second career after previewing Bruce’s program. Julie Papagni offers her program, "The Sky Is The Limit!" on Thursday, July 31 (10 a.m.). Candidates Needed For Board Of Directors

The NOCBOR Nominating Committee is searching for REALTOR® members interested in serving on the Board of Directors for three-year terms, beginning October, 2008. Code Of Ethics Quad Training

All REALTORS® in the country must complete their Code of Ethics training, mandated by the National Association of REALTORS®, no later than December 31, 2008. Failure to comply with this required ethics training is a violation of a membership duty for which the member’s services will be suspended until the training is complete. Jack Waller, NCI Associates, professional real estate trainer, will offer the required 2 ½ hours of free training at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29; Monday, September 15; Thursday, October 23; Thursday, November 20 and Friday, December 5. "Business Development For The Residential Specialist"

On Tuesday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 10 (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.), NOCBOR is offering the CRS 200 Course. The program is a strong foundation to building a successful real estate career. This "Core Course" helps you learn the fundamentals of business planning that lead to increased profit and productivity.  You will learn how to create a detailed business plan that encompasses the essential areas of budgeting, promotions, marketing and cost analysis. This course requires students to bring a standard calculator. The cost of the two-day program is $295 and qualifies for the NOCBOR loan program.

"Connecting With Multicultural Homebuyers"

Plan to attend this one-day CRS course at NOCBOR on Wednesday, October 16 (8:00 a.m.-5 p.m.). Earn credits toward the CRS designation, plus upon completion of this course, you should be able to examine local multicultural demographics, research and metrics to realize the business case for multicultural marketing and customer relationship efforts. More importantly, you will understand how cultural values affect your interactions with customers. The class fee, $199, qualifies for NOCBOR’s interest-free education loan. Deadline for registration is September 25, 2008.
